
Aleh Stankova
Programs and Project Evaluation Manager
Aleh Stankova has been part of the Bulgarian Fund for Women (BFW) team since 2022, initially as a Project Manager and later as a Programs and Project Evaluation Manager. She has extensive experience in the field of women’s and migrants’ rights, having worked as an advocate for women experiencing domestic violence and trafficking, as well as for migrant women navigating the justice system in London.
She holds two Master’s degrees: one in Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and another in International Development from Birkbeck College, University of London. Her dissertation on the discourse surrounding gender-based violence in Bulgaria received two awards, including the Birkbeck Prize for Gender & Sexuality, awarded by Lynne Segal.
With 15 years of activist experience in various feminist and queer collectives, Aleh is passionate about building solidarity networks, both locally and internationally, to strengthen the intersectional feminist movement. She speaks three languages, and her most recent writing appears in Constellations of Care: Anarcha-Feminism in Practice (2024), published by Pluto Press.
In her spare time, she plays the piano, DJs, writes manifestos, and dreams of a feminist revolution.
