Mira Dobreva

Mira Dobreva has been part of the Bulgarian Fund for Women (BFW) team since 2016, with her involvement evolving in intensity and scope over the years.

Her previous professional experience spans cultural and media institutions as well as nonprofit organizations. While diverse, her work has always been driven by a deep desire to create meaningful impact and contribute to the creative and progressive development of both immediate and broader communities. At BFW, her role focuses on assessing and contextualizing the Fund’s impact in strengthening the Bulgarian women’s movement, promoting democratic development, and improving the lives and rights of vulnerable groups in the country.

She believes in critical thinking, commitment to people, causes, and ideas. A mother. An aesthete at heart. Mira holds a PhD from Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) for her work exploring the relationship between women’s creativity, care work, and digital platforms.
