Dobrina Trifonova

Programs and Project Evaluation Manager

Dobrina has been part of the Bulgarian Fund for Women (BFW) team since January 2025 as Programs and Project Evaluation Manager.

Dobrina graduated with a BA in Media and Theatre from the Ruhr University Bochum (Germany) and then completed her MA in Media and Cultural Analysis at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Specialising in cultural management, media law, feminist theory and gender studies, her thesis explored the relationship between cultural diversity and globalisation in the NGO sector.

Parallel to her studies, she worked for a German publishing house, which gave her an extensive insight into international trade and project work with the European Commission. She completed her professional training at an arts and culture foundation supporting creative initiatives and cultural projects in the Rhine area.

After returning to Bulgaria, Dobrina joined the team of an advocacy and expert media programme for the whole south-eastern region of Europe that defends ethical media principles, promotes freedom of speech and quality journalism. There, she builds collaborations with international media organisations and leads the planning, conceptualisation and implementation processes of diverse activities.
