Veronika Petrova

Programs and Project Evaluation Manager

Veronika Petrova joined the Bulgarian Fund for Women (BFW) in 2023 as Programs and Project Evaluation Manager.

Over the years, she has been actively engaged in the civil sector, contributing to seemingly diverse but interconnected causes. She has advocated for translators’ rights at the House for Literature and Translation – Sofia, worked to increase the global visibility of Bulgarian literature, and preserved the legacy of composer Pancho Vladigerov through her role at the Pancho Vladigerov House Museum. Early in her career, she participated in initiatives to strengthen the civic sector as part of the Foundation for Urban Research and Projects.

Veronika holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies and a Master’s degree in Urban Studies from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Her academic work has introduced her to a network of erudite thinkers, and she is currently writing her Master’s thesis on Stolipinovo as part of the European Capital of Culture (2019) initiative. Her interest in urban development continues with the “Green Ring – Sofia” project, which envisions the transformation of old railway lines into a pedestrian and bicycle pathway connecting the city’s parks.

She has been involved in numerous cultural and artistic projects over the years and is now particularly focused on exploring the intersection of urban studies and feminism, contributing to the emerging field of feminist urbanism.
