26 Applications Were Received for BFW’s Mission: Possible Program

26 applications were received by BFW in the open call procedure for funding the organizational and administrative sustainability of women’s rights organizations. The cities and villages where the organizations are active are 14 (Sofia, Haskovo, Zelen Dol (Blagoevgrad Municipality), Burgas, Silistra, Dimitrovgrad, Smolyan, Veliko Tarnovo, Sliven, Karlovo, Ruse, Chepitsi, Blagoevgrad, Kazanlak)

Concepts were received from the following organizations:

  3. Bulgarian Platform to the European Women’s Lobby
  4. Women’s Association “Ekaterina Karavelova”
  5. “Doctors of the World” – Sliven Branch
  6. People’s Community Centre “Saznanie-1944”
  7. Rhodope Fund for Women – Poprelki
  8. Bulgarian Association for People with Cancer and Other Diseases “Life”
  9. Children’s Media Real and Magical Association
  10. Women of Kazanlak Association
  11. Association for Creative and Educated Bulgaria
  12. Association “Leaders of the Future”
  13. Association “National Institute of Tourism”
  14. Orion Association – Care for Leaders and Authors
  15. NGO “IN TIME Er Em” 
  16. Non-Profit Association “Youth and Civic Initiatives in the Rose Valley”
  17. Southwest Public Information Center Association
  18. “The Awakeners” Foundation 
  19. Listen Up Foundation
  20. Crocus Foundation

The concepts will be evaluated on the following criteria:
  • Relation of the mission, goals and activities of the organizations to the priorities of the Open Call Procedures for funding administrative and organizational sustainability;
  • Thematic areas of work and an approach that takes into account the interconnections of social inequalities;
  • Organizations’ target groups and their participation in the organizations’ decision-making processes;
  • The existence of a strategic development plan and the potential for achieving social change.
Priority will be given to concepts from:
  • Organizations with an annual budget below 50 000 BGN;
  • Organizations based outside the capital;
  • Organizations working at the intersection of women’s rights, girls’ rights, LBTI people and social justice, ethnic inclusion, vulnerable groups, and environmental justice;
  • Organizations working to create and mobilize a movement for women’s and girls’ rights in Bulgaria.

The evaluation of the concepts in the first phase of the competition will be carried out by the programme team of the Bulgarian Fund for Women. Organizations that qualify in the second phase of the competition, which consists of a detailed application form including a strategy for the organization’s development and an estimated budget for 2 years, will be announced by July 25, 2022 on BFW’s website.
