About the program

The “Feminist Opportunities for Resilience and Community Empowerment” (FORCE) program, implemented with the financial support of the European Commission, aims to enhance the resilience of the civil society sector in Bulgaria. It does so by providing financial support and capacity-building opportunities for non-governmental organizations whose mission and activities contribute to combating gender-based violence and promoting gender equality.

The program offers an integrated approach to capacity building and organizational support. The financial assistance and training programs are designed as interconnected components that complement and strengthen one another.

The capacity-building opportunities within the program will offer flexible, needs-based training. FORCE includes organizational development workshops, networking and shared learning opportunities, as well as access to expert consultations tailored to the specific needs of participating organizations.

BFW will provide financial support for projects focused on preventing and combating all forms of gender-based violence. This includes addressing violence within the context of migration, domestic violence, and violence against LGBTIQ+ individuals. The funding competition has a total budget of €1,800,000 for projects implemented within Bulgaria. Funding amounts will range from €10,000 to €60,000, depending on the nature and scope of the project.

Am I eligible to apply for funding?
Applications for funding can only be submitted by organizations registered in Bulgaria under the Non-Profit Legal Entities Act (NPLE) and that are engaged in activities for the public benefit. The application process is conducted only in Bulgarian.
