Gender Equality Youth Clubs 2011

11 Nov, 2011 | news

In 2011 Bulgarian Fund for Women together with OAK Foundation continues working for the women’s and girls’ empowerment. We created 13 Gender Equality Youth Clubs all over Bulgaria. You can find them in Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv, Varna, Lovech, Haskovo, Kuklen, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad, Pleven, Karlovo, Doupnitsa, Svilengrad and Pernik  . . . and join them!

In our clubs girls and young women discuss topics such as gender equality/inequality, discrimination, human rights, human trafficking, domestic violence, stereotypes and how to break them, feminism and women’s movements, history of women. These girls share experience and educate other volunteers and school-girls using the method peer to peer. They use the interactive approach-media presentations, forum theaters, sports, etc. to empower and to build strong leadership qualities not only in the members of the clubs but they are also trying to reach as many girls as they can through different outdoor events.

The work of the clubs keeps going! If you are interested and want to join us or just ask us some questions, do it! Don’t wait for tomorrow! The road to gender equality is shorter if we walk together! We can do it!
