BFW will hold a training on domestic violence for teachers
The Bulgarian Fund for Women will hold a two-day educational training for teachers in Sofia between the 7 – 13 October 2017 on the topic of domestic violence. The seminar is the third of its kind and follows identical ones, which took place in Pleven and Stara Zagora in June 2017. They all are part of a BFW’s project, supported by the Ministry of Justice, which is dedicated to the building of capacity of teachers for the prevention and work with children in regard to domestic violence. The aim of the trainings is to develop and enrich the knowledge of domestic violence, its detection and search for shelter from children who have witnessed or suffered aggression at home. All participants will receive the special “ Teacher’s Handbook”, authored by gender experts in the field of the seminar. Following the training, the teachers will have the chance to conduct 5 lessons as part of the project’s educational pilot programme on the topic of domestic violence, tailored for various ages.
