In the eve of the International Women’s Day, on March 7 2012, the Bulgarian Fund for Women made another huge step on the road to equality and to making the world a better place, with the official opening and the start of the women’s movement “Million Women for Million Goodnesses”. The idea for a Bulgarian movement of women-philanthropists was born in November 2011 when the Bulgarian Fund for Women together with the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum organized the conference “Women and Philanthropy” where women from Bulgaria, the Netherlands, the USA and Switzerland who invest in social change, shared their experience in donating and promised themselves to keep their positive energy and to work even harder in the fields they believe their efforts are needed. Another important promise was made-to unite these efforts and the movement “Million Women for Million Goodnesses” is the proof that the promise was kept.
The aim of the movement is not only to focus on and to show the society the problems of girls and women but to work for solving them. We believe in the uniqueness of every woman but when women are united, our strength is unique. It is us who carry the change inside us and who can make the world a better place. It is us!
