“We are extremely grateful to the global and Bulgarian team of Glovo, who as soon as we contacted them, responded and stood behind the campaign of the Bulgarian Women’s Fund. They recognized the cause of support for victims of domestic violence as a topic of high public importance and offered their professional support through the services they offer”, said Nadejda Dermendjieva, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Fund for Women. “For us from the Bulgarian Fund for Women, the support of Glovo through the free delivery of the book as a gift to donors is of great help. Thus, on one hand, we have a trusted and professional partner for courier services, and on the other hand, we will save a significant amount and will be able to direct all funds raised in the campaign directly to crisis and counselling centers in the country that save women and children“, added Dermendjieva.
“The Invisible First Line” campaign of the Bulgarian Fund for Women tells the stories of psychologists, lawyers and social workers from organizations that work on the front line by providing legal, psychological and social services, managing crisis centers/ shelters for temporary accommodation, counselling centers, hotlines for assistance and mobile services throughout the country. The initiative raises funds precisely for their urgent needs so that they can continue to help this most vulnerable group of Bulgarian society. Among the needs of the centers that will be covered by the collected donations are:
provision of tests for COVID-19, personal protective equipment, disinfectants and sanitary materials to prevent the spread of infection;
payment of state legal fees for representation of victims in court;
additional hours of work of psychologists and lawyers due to the increased number of cases;
educational and play materials for children, staying in shelters with their mons;
