BFW’s “Values” open call for project funding attracted 139 applications. The total requested amount is BGN 5,110,243.
Evaluation Process
All applicants will go through a screening stage for compliance with administrative and eligibility criteria. Projects of organizations that do not meet these criteria will not be evaluated. In case of missing documents or errors in the system, applicants will receive automatic notifications. If they do not provide the complete documentation in the required format and time frame, their applications will not be considered.
Each application that meets the administrative and eligibility criteria will be evaluated by two impartial experts forming an evaluation committee – one external evaluator and one member of the BFW program team. They evaluate independently and independently of each other the submitted applications following the three main groups of criteria – Compliance, Quality, and Impact. The final grade is formed by taking the average value of the two assessment protocols of the members of the evaluation committee.
Approved candidates will be notified in the system and on the associated email and announced on the BFW website by August 10* 2024.
*The deadline is an estimation and there may be changes in the actual schedule based on the number of applications received.
About the Values Program
The purpose of the Values program is to contribute to the guarantee of fundamental human rights, democratic participation, citizen engagement, and the promotion of EU values. It is in line with the common goal of the Bulgarian Fund for Women and its partners to build an inclusive, sustainable, and pro-democratic civil society in Bulgaria.
The Values Program will support independent civil organizations active at the local, regional, or national level whose main mission and activities are aimed at protecting, promoting, and raising awareness of fundamental rights, gender equality, EU values, the rule of law, and democracy.
The Values Program is part of the BIRDS in BG project to provide 360-degree support to the civil sector in Bulgaria, which BFW implements together with its partners from the Bulgarian Center for Non-Profit Law (BCNP) and the Impact Drive Foundation.
The BIRDS in BG project is co-financed by the European Union. The views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
