Values Program: Extended Deadline for the Evaluation of Applications

9 Aug, 2024 | BirdsInBg, news

The Bulgarian Fund for Women (BFW) is extending the deadline for evaluating the applications received under the “Values” program for project support.

The competition attracted a total of 139 applications, which were reviewed by evaluation committees, each consisting of two experts evaluating independently from each other – one member of the Program Team and one external evaluator. According to the established evaluation criteria published in the Application Guidelines, applications with a difference in evaluation of more than 30% are subject to arbitration.

Due to the large number of projects received and the final selection procedure, which requires review of some applications by a third-party evaluator and final approval by the Management Committee of the BIRDS in BG project, it is necessary to extend the deadline for announcing the organizations approved for funding. We expect the process to be completed no later than August 31, 2024, when we will contact them.

The BFW team thanks everyone who submitted project proposals within the Values Program for their patience.

About the Values Program

The purpose of the Values Program is to contribute to the guarantee of fundamental human rights, democratic participation, citizen engagement, and the promotion of EU values. It is in line with the common goal of BFW and its partners to build an inclusive, sustainable, and pro-democratic civil society in Bulgaria.

The Values Program will support independent civil organizations active at local, regional, or national levels whose main mission and activities are aimed at protecting, promoting, and raising awareness of fundamental rights, gender equality, EU values, the rule of law, and democracy.

The Values Program is part of the BIRDS in BG project to provide 360-degree support to the civil sector in Bulgaria, which BFG implements together with its partners from the Bulgarian Center for Non-Profit Law (BCNL) and the Impact Drive Foundation.
