The Bulgarian Fund for Women announced the winners of its annual call for financial support of projects in the field of women’s rights and gender equality. The projects were evaluated by two members of BFW’s Board and three members of the Fund’s team on a scale of maximum 325 points which included. criteria such as innovation, growth potential, target groups, reasonability of the budget etc.
The members of the evaluating committee were:
- Vanya Karaganeva, member of the Board of Trustees
- Stanimira Hadjimitova, member of the Board of Trustees
- Nadejda Dermendjieva, Director of BFW
- Gergana Kutseva, expert “Communication and Fundraising” at BFW
- Mira Dobreva, coordinator “Grants and Projects”
The awardees of the 2016 BFW Call for Projects are as follows:
“Learn” foundation – 321 points.
LGBT Youth Organization “Deystvie” – 315 points
Youth and Civil Activities in the Rose Valley – 302 points.
Youth Organization “Young, active, creative” – 283 points.
Civil Organization “Alzheimer Bulgaria” – Pleven branch – 287 points.
“Marta and Maria” foundation – 278 points.
“The Daughters of Bulgaria” foundation – 270 points.
Association for Career Development and Training – 265 points.
‘Ladies HR” foundation – 243 points.
Labor Confederation “Podkrepa” – 241 pounts.
There were 24 organizations from 13 cities in Bulgaria who participated in the 2016 BFW Call for Projects. The ten selected projects will be executed by organizations from Karlovo, Pleven, Kurtovo, Plovdiv and Sofia. They will place efforts in the field of women’s rights and gender equality both on regional and national level. Each project will be awarded 1000 leva for its execution, whereas the deadline for the completion is the end of April 2017.
