In June 2022, the Bulgarian Fund for Women, with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation, carried out a special anniversary edition of the yearly feminist camp named – Feminist Boot Camp All Stars. There were 21 participants, ranging from the age of 21 to 40, from 7 areas of the country.
The common goal of the Feminist Boot Camp All stars was to unite the participants from all of the different previous editions of the initiative so that they could share their knowledge, experience and skills, and together to apply with a project, dedicated to topics, concerning women rights and their empowerment.
Over the 5 days of the camp, the participants had the opportunity to discuss contemporary topics such as domestic violence and gender-based violence; the need for proper sexual education in schools; poverty and many more. Additionally, the attendees found different approaches to solving issues and teamwork through collaborative participation in different exercises.
The anniversary edition brought together girls and women of different ages and professional backgrounds, who have taken part in the previous editions of the program, and gave them an opportunity to share their experiences and ideas in a safe space and welcoming environment. They were all united by their desire to work for a better, fair life for all girls and women in Bulgaria.
In the end, the participants, separated into a few groups, developed and presented their project ideas. There will be an internal contest, in which they can apply for funding up to 10 000 lv from Bulgarian Fund for Women. The contest is possible thanks to the support of the Global Fund for Women.
