Urgent Action Fund for Women’s Human Rights (UAF) calls for proposals from Bulgaria, announces Bulgarian Fund for Women. UAF is a feminist activist fund that gives small rapid response grants (RRGs) to women and trans human rights defenders around the world when their security is threatened because of their activism or when unanticipated and time-sensitive opportunities for advocacy emerge.
RRGs are up to $5,000 for a period of up to 3 months.
UAF was established to fill a gap in funding to allow organizations to respond in flexible ways to urgent, unanticipated situations they had not planned or budgeted for. UAF is organized through a Sister Funds model, with a UAF Sister Fund in Africa and another one in Latin America. At the moment the UAF office based in the US (with offices in California and New York) focuses on the rest of the world.
