Here are the approved candidates in the Community Program for Equality and Climate justice

The open call for participants in the Community Program for Equality and Climate Justice of the Bulgarian Fund for Women, announced on April 2 2021, ended with 34 submitted applications from 14 different places in the country.

Rada Elenkova, Sasha Milanova and Teodora Petrova from the BFW team made the selection of candidates. Among the criteria of evaluation of the candidates were the belonging to an active community, geographical location, motivation for participation and realism of the ideas and relation to the topic of the call.

Here are the selected 20 participants and the places in which they work with their communities:

The selected participants will undergo a three-day Community Development Training, which will take place from 10 to 12 June 2021. All anti-epidemic measures related to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 will be taken into account. After the training, the participants will have the opportunity to apply with a project that is to be implemented in their community, receiving a scholarship in the amount of BGN 1,500 from the Bulgarian Fund for Women.

The selection process proved to be difficult since the ideas and profile of all applicants were diverse, meaningful and inspiring. We would like to thank everyone who took the time and energy to share their motivation and ideas with us. The conclusion for our organization is that there are many active citizens in the country, full of ideas and energy, able and willing to work at the local level for social change and climate justice. We are happy that the Equality and Climate Justice Program offers opportunities to support key causes and achieve true change.

We, from the Bulgarian Fund for Women, are motivated to continue our efforts in this direction, to further develop this program and to look forward for new opportunities for cooperation with every each of the candidates that we find are extremely inspiring.
