Since 2009, Raiffeisenbank donation initiatives have supported a total of 283 health, social, cultural and eco-projects with over BGN 3.5 million
The annual donation campaign of RaiffeisenbankChoose to Helpraises funds to support 15 new significant causes in the fields of health, social activities, culture and education, environmental protection. The initiative is held for the 13th consecutive year, and since 2009 the bank, employees and the public have supported a total of 283 projects with over BGN 3.5 million.
The focus of the selected projects is on the timely prevention of the effects of Covid-19, support for at-risk social groups – women, children and the elderly, protection of cultural and historical heritage, protection of forests and ecosystems, as well as bettering eco-education among adolescents.
Institutions and organizations from all over the country that raise funding for their projects inChoose to Help2021are the National Archaeological Museum, Rila Monastery, Military Medical Academy, the First Three Minutes Foundation, Bulgarian Christmas, multidisciplinary hospitals in Montana andKardzhali, theBulgarian Fund for Women, Caritas Bulgaria, Concordia Bulgaria, H.StepichFoundation, SOS Children’s Villages, For Our Children Foundation, South-Eastern Bulgaria and Shumen Plateau Nature Park.

After the extraordinary 2020, when we gave priority support to doctors at the front line in the fight against the coronavirus, we are now reopening the donation campaign for a wider range of those in need. Traditionally, most of the funds in the donation campaign are raised by the bank and the employees of the Raiffeisen Group in Bulgaria, and in recent years the amount raised by the general public has also increased. Donations for the selected project can be made easily through the platformizberi.rbb.bgand the option “Donate with a bank card” – a link to the virtual POS terminal is located under each project included in the campaign. The otheroptionfor supporting the causes is through the mobile applicationRaiMobile, Raiffeisen ONLINE or by bank transfer directly to the account of the respective organization.
TheBulgarian Fund for Women’s campaign, Solidarity in Actionaims to support women and children who have suffered from domestic violence. This is a topic thatremainshidden behind closed doors, while every third Bulgarian woman is a victim of violence. Every two weeks, a woman in Bulgaria is killed by her former or current husband/partner or relative.

With the raised amount, the Bulgarian Fund for Women will support crisis andcounsellingcentresthroughout the country, which help the women and their childrenon a daily basisand provide them with temporary shelter, psychological and legal support, humanitarian aid and what\s necessary to start a new life and getting out of a toxic relationship. The funds will be used for the provision of psychological, social and legal services; improvement of living conditions and urgent repairs in the Crisis Centers; purchase of disinfectants and personal protective equipment related to the control of Covid-19; covering PCR tests; provision of food, clothing, medicine; fees for medical services, etc.
In May 2020 the Bulgarian Fund for Women initiated anEmergency Fund for Combating Domestic Violence in the conditions of COVID-19, within which it managed to directly support 499 women and their children by providing the collected funding of BGN 73,192 to 14 crisis andcounsellingcentresthroughout the country.
