The Bulgarian Fund for Women announces an open Call for proposals for funding feminist projects with a total budget of BGN 100,000. The amount of the maximum funding that a project can receive is BGN 10,000, and the application deadline is 11:59 pm on June 6, 2021.
The “Feminism in Action” Call is held in line with the mission of the Bulgarian Fund for Women for the development of the feminist movement in the country through the support of organizations and groups working for women’s rights. The competition is also part of the strategic activities of BFW to address the needs of different groups of women and girls, to achieve gender equality and a society free of violence, discrimination and inequality. Our vision is that all women and girls live in a just world where their choices are respected and their voices are heard.
Wide range of activities are eligible for funding in the “Feminist in Action” call. However, their guiding principles should be equality non-discrimination and empowerment of girls and women, especially members of vulnerable and/or marginalized groups. The goals and activities of each project must demonstrate a feminist approach and a clear understanding of the problem they address, as well as to be aimed at achieving sustainable social change.
Only organizations registered under the Law on Non-Profit Legal Entities and in public benefit may participate in the competition. The participation of unregistered groups/ collectives is admissible only if it is in partnership with a non-profit organization registered in public benefit, with which the financing agreement will be concluded.
